Elegant palm tree
Palm has always been considered the embodiment of elegance, giving the house special features of sophistication. Most palm trees grow slowly, so large specimens are expensive. But from a small plant with proper care, you can get an impressive specimen.

It is widely believed that all palm trees love the hot sun and prefer dry air, but this is a fallacy. First of all, it is necessary to provide the palm tree with a cool winter, where the air temperature should not be below ten degrees. Avoid direct sunlight, unless you are completely sure that your palm needs it. Palm trees need fertile soil and good drainage. The plant is transplanted only when necessary, since the palm does not tolerate any damage to the roots. New soil must be well compacted. In summer and spring, water the palm tree abundantly, and in winter - in moderation. It must often be sprayed or wiped with a damp sponge. It is not recommended to use polishing aerosols for palm trees.

If the tips of the leaves turn brown on the palm, then it is provided with insufficient watering, the air in the room is too dry or vice versa - it is too cold. The appearance of brown spots on the palm leaves indicates that the plant became ill - as a result of hypothermia or frequent watering. It is necessary to trim all such leaves. Yellow leaves on a palm tree indicate poor watering and insufficient nutrition. The browned lower leaves should not cause concern - they simply die off and are usually cut off. The brown tips on the leaves are cut off with scissors, but so as not to injure their healthy part. For too hard palm leaves, use a small saw instead of a pruner.

Not all types of palm trees grow large, many are so small that they can be used for a small garden on the windowsill. Of the hardy and tall specimens can be advised "Squat Chamerope." Palm trees can grow in open ground in small frosts. Howera Forster is very good for a closed palm courtyard. It grows slowly and can tolerate poor lighting. “Canarian date” prefers sunlight, but its leaves should be protected from sunburn. From unpretentious and low palm trees, it is best to choose "Elegant Hamedorea." Young plants often give flowers. Very interesting, but capricious is "Coconut Nuts". This is a coconut tree that is grown from walnut. Even a young coke palm reaches a height of 1.8 m, so it is difficult to maintain a plant in an apartment with low ceilings.
